A small crew dedicated to sustainable coral fragging & farming education.
Behind every Artisan Frag Plugs product is a reef hobbyist who believes healthy coral propagation starts with thoughtful design, practical experience, and a genuine passion for reef keeping. While we may still be a small operation, our goal is simple: build products and educational resources that help hobbyists and coral farmers propagate corals with confidence.
From designing aragonite frag plugs and magnetic frag rocks to writing in-depth propagation guides, everything we create is built around one mission—supporting healthier, more successful coral fragging. If you've found yourself here, chances are you're just as obsessed with reef aquariums as we are.
Of course, no reef operation would be complete without a few personalities keeping things interesting. Alongside Connor, you'll meet the real supervisors behind Artisan Frag Plugs: a collection of fish, shrimp, and cleanup crew members who spend their days testing habitats, remodeling the aquascape without permission, and reminding everyone who's really in charge of the tank. They may not help manufacture frag plugs, but they're excellent at quality control... at least according to them.
Whether you're here for premium propagation products, practical reefing advice, or just to meet the team, welcome to Artisan Frag Plugs. We're glad you're here.
Designs the products, writes the guides, runs the machines, answers the emails, and spends far too much time staring into the reef tank "doing research."
Head of security and self-appointed ruler of the aquarium. Conducts daily inspections, investigates every hand entering the tank, and maintains strict order through mild intimidation.
Penny's loyal sidekick and full-time hype man. Wherever Penny goes, Red follows—providing moral support, questionable decisions, and unwavering confidence in absolutely everything.
Professional cleaner with impossibly high standards. Offers complimentary spa treatments to fish while silently judging every aquascaping decision made by management.
Keeps constant watch over headquarters from the front porch of the burrow. Reports suspicious activity immediately, usually by disappearing underground without explanation.
Rarely seen, constantly working. Specializes in unauthorized construction projects, structural renovations, and moving sand exactly where nobody wanted it. Salmon & Gilfunkel have a very structured, antisocial routine.
Keeps the glass and rockwork spotless while quietly pretending the rest of the cleanup crew isn't slacking. Probably the hardest worker in the entire company.
Earned his name after surviving two weeks unnoticed in an empty tank. Now specializes in emerging dramatically from the sand whenever food appears.
Professional sand engineer dedicated to turning neat substrate into organized chaos. Spends most of the day buried with Sarah, somehow always arriving first at feeding time.
Handles substrate aeration, cleanup duties, and general excavation. Quiet, dependable, and always improving upon the decisions Ness is making with sand displacement.
